Partner Schools
MESA's partners include public and private schools across Oregon. These schools identify, enroll and support students throughout their participation in MESA. Partner schools also teach the required financial education training and provide ongoing support to students at different stages of their tenure at the institution.
CASA selects partner schools based on their mission to serve underrepresented student populations and their existing infrastructure and capacity to provide case management and supportive services to these students.
Mt. Hood Community College's (MHCC) Transiciones/Transitions program has over thirty students participating in MESA. Transiciones serves Latina single parents and homemakers; Transitions serves single parents, displaced homemakers and speakers of English as a second language. Both programs provide support services to the participating students, as well as classes focused on transitioning to college and life and career planning. MHCC's exceptional case management has supported its Transiciones students as they take the next step to a four-year insitution.
Ten private colleges and universities in Oregon offer MESA through a partnership with the Oregon Independent College Foundation (OICF).
OICF's mission is to strengthen the capacity of Oregon's leading liberal arts colleges and universities to provide access, opportunity, and choice for Oregon students enrolled at its member institutions; to enhance the state's economic, intellectual, educational and cultural resources; and to promote an understanding and appreciation among the business and civic communities and the general public of the role of Oregon's independent colleges and universities.
OICF's member institutions (with their founding date) include:
Select high schools through Oregon GEAR UP are also participating in MESA. These high schools are supporting students who have aspirations to attend a post-secondary educational institution but lack sufficient resources to attend. Currently, ten high schools across Oregon are offering MESA to select students.
